Nothing about New Year's

I've had so many people, strangers and friends, ask me about Courtney's curly hair. Even some close friends tell me that they don't remember Lindsey's hair doing what Courtney's does.... check this out!!!

So there you have it! Lindsey's hair was WAY more curly as a toddler than it is now!! So, who knows what Courtney's will do. I will say though that Courtney's does seem to do that more easily and is more "out of control" curly than I remember with Lindsey. Maybe I just feel like I know what to do better with hair or something too...who knows?! But I just wanted to share!

Three Christmases

Our families (thank the Lord) are not as crazy as those on the movie Four Chirstmases, but we had Three Christmases!! The girls love it and we have fun with all of them! Today we met at Kyle and Miah's new house to have Christmas with Ryan's Dad. Miah made Chili and dessert. So yummy! They have a cat, Fletcher, who wasn't sure about us all being there. However, the girls were dying to see him! Uncle Kyle pulled him out, but he did not want to be out!

They got a bag full of presents...lots of things! One of them being Old Maid!

Again...no pics of Grandpa! Man, I really messed up this year. Oh well...we were enjoying our time together!

More Christmas

Christmas Day night we went to my parents' house. We had dinner there and then opened presents.

Here is Lindsey. She's so cute, but she's getting to that age where she has that funny, fake smile that if she doesn't really laugh or something you get this weird smile....

Their big present from Honey and Granddad was a doll house and A LOT of rooms/accessories.

Lindsey got a BIG GIRL tea party from Uncle Taylor and Amber. It is not plastic, has a holder and will break...thus, big girl!

Courtney got some Dora movies, which she will love and we needed after ours were lost on our trip to Disney World!

Santa left stockings there for them too....so they got to find goodies there too!

This is a fairly new tradition at the Smith Christmas. It comes from some Watts cousins...

It is the peppermint pig. It is supposed to be for good luck or something. Not really sure. It is this hot pink pig, then you put it in this red bag, hit it with this hammer, then tell what your "good fortune" was for this past year. I guess then you are supposed to eat the peppermint pieces after everyone has "hit" the pig, but we don't. Please take note of Ryan in the background...can you tell he's excited? He does a good job of playing along for Honey and the girls. :)

The next morning, Honey and Granddad brought out 2 last presents...rocking chair and big Mickey Mouse!

Here is Uncle Taylor (I think someone asked me to post a picture of my brother...) If you ever eat at Tim's Pizza on the square, look for him there!!

Here is Amber, who we hope will soon be Aunt Amber. NO, I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING for those of you reading this and would be wondering. I just type that with literal hope! We are all ready for her to be part of our family! The girls LOVE her! She and Taylor are both so good with them. We are lucky to have such great uncles and aunts!!
Here is our lone family picture from the entire Christmas holiday. Not perfect, but at least we have one! It was as we were leaving mom and dad's house! Then as I looked back I realized Granddad wasn't in the pictures either...sorry Dad! This is the ONLY one I am in from the ENTIRE weekend with ALL the families!

Again, as we were leaving, mom wanted to take a picture with Roscoe. Here is the scenerio if you can't tell from the picture. Mom is on ready, like those of us with kids know that adults have to be, Courtney doesn't have a clue we are taking a picture, she's just hanging out talking and laying her head on the chair, Roscoe won't look, so I was snapping my fingers. So, look at Lindsey...there she is snapping her fingers trying to get Ros to look at me! HILARIOUS is what it turned out to be without any picture worth anything more than laughs! Gotta love it...

As soon as we got home they wanted their doll house set up. For now it is in Lindsey's room. We reminded her several times that it was STILL Courtney's and her's, but just in her room. So far it has worked out well. They LOVE playing with it! Thank you to Honey and Granddad!

Christmas Day

So when the girls woke up they played with all of their stuff! Lindsey put her glove on and was ready to play ball!

Courtney was excited about her baby stuff....and put babies in all of them right away.

I love her expression. It was a movie, nothing exciting. The joy of Christmas!

Then we had breakfast and opened presents after that. Courtney's stack was SO big...it was funny to see it look bigger than her.

Courtney was so funny opening presents. She would open one and then really enjoy it. She would look at the book or want to open the game. So precious.

Lindsey on the other hand would get excited, but quickly move on to the next!

She was NOT told to do this! I thought it was funny that she immediately held it up to her! Such a big girl! Courtney got a matching Strawberry Shortcake one too.

This was a game she had played at a couple of friends' houses and wanted. So she was excited to open that one for sure!

Megan got Clue for Christmas. We all played! It was one of those games that we all really got into and played like 4 times!! Seriously, I want to go buy it! It was fun!

We could not ask for better Uncles, like I've said before! Not to mention a wonderful Aunt!! :) They played and played and played with the girls!! Here was a fun game of twister. Courtney...just walloring around! Typical!

I remember playing "Guess Who" and loving it. Since Lindsey is such a detail person, I thought she would like it too. Sure enough...she did! BIG thanks to Uncle Kyle and Aunt Miah for putting it all together! (I was busy playing Clue!) Ha!

We had Christmas lunch here at our house. We got a Heavenly Ham. I made hashbrown casserole, reen bean bundles, corn, pastacio salad, and rolls. YUMMY! I made peppermint dessert too, a family favorite!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve Day was really like most other days around here. Ryan worked, almost all day. The girls and I hung out at home and got a lot of things ready for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Dinner. This picture isn't so great of Lindsey, but I had to post it because of Courtney's expression!!

One of the things that we did was make cookies for Santa. While most moms get really creative and make their own dough or whatever, I went with the pre-cut cookies this year! It worked great! There were 2 sheets in there and so they each had the exact same thing! They loved it!

That night, Kyle and Miah came down to spend the night with us and be here on Christmas! We had a "snacky" supper. My favorite! We had hot ham and cheese, cheese dip, onion dip, party pizzas, and lots of sweet snacks! Yummo!!! We ate early and went to our candle light service at church. It was neat. Nothing big and fancy, just simple and a great experience! The girls did very good. Lindsey dripped wax on her finger at the end and cried, but other that they were great!

When we got back we put out the reindeer food that Lindsey had gotten at school. It was oats and glitter. The idea was that it was food for Rudolph and glitter so they could find our house! So they scattered it around (a very small patch) in the back yard!

Then we let the girls open their one present (new pjs) that I want to be a "tradition" but Ryan says they'll pick up on it and become disappointed. We'll see... They are super cute! Lindsey had gotten a new gown earlier this week and she told me she was not going to wear her new Santa ones, but her new gown. Which was fine.

Santa wrote a letter back telling them how they had been good and that he hoped they liked their presents. Lindsey couldn't believe that Santa wrote her back! :) Precious...
I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep in anticipation of them waking up! However, Ryan and I were on the couch waiting for them for 20 min! Then he checked on Courtney and she had just woken up. They went to wake Lindsey up and she was OUT! Hilarious!! I'm sure we'll look back and WISH we were waiting on them! So here they are waiting to come out and see what Santa brought them!

Lindsey wouldn't walk out of her room. She wanted Ryan to carry her! So funny!

This is what they woke up to. Lindsey got a little vanity and make up. She LOVES LOVES LOVES to dress up and do "big girl" stuff. She was excited. She also got a glove to play ball with daddy! She MIGHT play next summer, we'll see.

This was a random thing that Ryan (I mean Santa) thought they would like. Lindsey LOVES to make parades with stuff so he thought they would like this race track. Does he wish he had a boy?! Glove and race track...hmmmm
This was Courtney's side. She got some stuff for her babies. She is very into playing baby dolls. Lindsey is too, and was some at this age, but Courtney does it all the time! She was excited, once she saw it!! As soon as she ran out she ran straight to Kyle and Miah!
