God Knows What He's Doing!

Ok, the title...meaning that I had a fun afternoon with Lindsey. I'm am such the "girly" mom that I don't know what I'd do with a boy, so I'm glad God knows what He's doing in giving me girls! All my friends that have boys say how special they are (and I don't doubt them for one milisecond), but I'm thankful that I enjoy doing these very girly things with my girls! Lindsey is just getting so big which means fun things, but then I look at these pictures and see how big she really is. In so many ways I look forward to fun things we can do as mom and daughter, but on the flip side I know how fast time goes by and I don't want in any way to rush this time we have together. That being said it was fun to play "big girl" stuff with her while Courtney took a nap. It didn't take much time really, but it was fun. I told her I liked "playing with her hair" and she thought that was so funny. I guess just using the word 'play' with hair was funny to her. She always likes her fingers and toes painted and one other time I straightened her hair when she asked. For some reason today she wanted it straight. I like the way it looks, mostly. She looks older and I don't like that. But, it looks pretty. Not long after she plays though it looks really thin and stringy. As she sat here on the counter it looked great! :) It gets so "static-y" (is that a word?) and just doesn't look good, or I might do it more often. She likes it a lot!

Then here is Courtney from the other night. I had gotten the girls some popcorn chicken at lunch and there was some left. Lindsey was at Puggles or something and so I let Courtney have the rest. As soon as I gave it to her she disappeared. I found her here at the little table with the chicken all spread out. To add cuteness to the story, she had come running in the kitchen with the empty container. That is when I went checking on her and found this! She thinks she is so big! Which she is, but it is funny to realize it sometimes!

However, it isn't funny to realize she's getting big when she's throwing TERRIBLE TWOS fits! Yes, they have started. This is exactly when we started having trouble with Lindsey. Right at this age....18 months! Courtney has thrown what I guess I would call a 1/2 fit. She has gone to all fours on the ground fits, but not laying in the floor fits. I know you moms understand that, right? She has done it two or three times now. Lindsey was a fit in the floor kid. Believe it or not, those of you that know me well might think so, but these fits did not come from me. My mom says that she just doesn't think that I did anything like that. I had my quirks for sure, but not like that. Cynda says that Ryan didn't either, so I don't know where they get it. But, I apparently have 2 fit throwers. Lindsey either whines and rolls around in the floor or throws what I call a "silent fit" when I'm needing her to answer me or tell me something. Example: tonight at supper she asked for more coke (we'd been at a birthday party). I told her no more coke. So she got mad and continued (a million times I think) to tell us that she was thirsty. However, when given her options for drinks, she refused to answer. So, we'd quit asking. Then the continual request for a drink would come. Her 'silent fit' by not answering was very frustrating!

Ok, I'm rambling on about my day, but one day I will read it and be thankful I'm sure. Ryan is at upward coaching, hopefully close to coming home with a victory!

Here comes the....

Flower Girl! She is so excited to wear her dress to Kyle and Miah's wedding! This dress is one that the flower girls wore in our wedding! (They were Ryan's twin cousins that were the exact age Lindsey is by hardly a week!) Anyway, Miah picked out a brown bridesmaid dress that I actually wore 2 summers ago when I was BIG pregnant with Courtney. I still had it, for some reason, and made Lindsey's sash today for her dress. I really like how it looks and am very pleased with my first "project" sewing...other than material onto burp cloths! :) Lindsey will make a beautiful flower girl! One day she will make a beautiful bride, but let's not go there! I wonder how Ryan will hold up watching Lindsey walk in and down the aisle at the wedding?!

Ryan's New Toy

Well, this is Ryan's new toy he bought today! He was so excited! Not that he's excited to mow, but excited that he can ride and do it and not have to push! Lindsey loved his new tractor!

HOLD MY HAND! Look at both of their faces! So funny!! Lindsey is so mad that Courtney won't hold her hand and Courtney thinks it is hilarious! Gotta love 'em!
Lindsey filled out all 14 of her friends' Valentine cards! I thought she might get tired of it, but she didn't and is now making one for Daddy. So cute!

So Much Better

Well, for those interested....I'm much better! I guess the doc was right because the meds are working and other than just a small bit of congestion, I feel 100% better! Praise the Lord! So far the girls seem well and had a great time at Honey and Grandad's house! Thanks mom and dad! I couldn't have survived or gotten well this quickly if I had been chasing the girls around! Kudos to you! So, off to the rest of the week and looking forward to this weekend in Branson with my hubby! I guess just pray he doesn't get snowed or iced in while at a meeting in Cincinnati this week!

Flu? No. Sinus Infection

The title pretty much says it all. I feel like I've been run over by a truck. I was sure that it was the flu--fever, chills, horrible headache, a small bit of congestion--but after going to the doctor today and having a test done, it was negative. So, my doctor is treating it as a sinus infection. Who knows?! I hate to "wish" it was the flu, but feel like at least I would have an answer, but maybe these meds will help. Tylenol and Advil seem to be somewhat working, but if I do much then my head starts to explode.

PRAISE THE LORD my mom is out of school all week. So, Ryan met my parents yesterday and the girls are with them. Mom says they are having fun and I'm able to rest much easier with out them here to need me. I just pray that they don't get sick--the girls or my parents!

The best news of all: My sweet husband planned a weekend away for us (before I was sick!). He even got his mom to keep the girls for us and got a hotel for us in Branson...Chateu on the Lake! Very nice! He even already scheduled me a massage on Sat. morning! What a great hubby I have! Thanks babe! I just pray that I will be well enough and that my girls will be well too!

Fit for a...Princess!

Princess Lindsey as she is going to rest today. This cool tent is something that Daddy thought would be a good idea. We had a couple of Christmas toys that weren't working, so he returned them and came home with this! You can imagine that Lindsey loved it. So does Courtney!

She's Got Moves!

Practicing being a cheerleader. Not sure where she got these spectacular moves!? She says "I'm dancing like a cheerleader!" So, I guess she is! I've tried to get the video to turn the other way, but can't figure it out. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears! It is "up and down" on my camera and in my pictures it is right, but uploaded it isn't right. Oh well...it is still cute!
