Holiday Confusion

We started last night...

Getting the Christmas stuff out of the attic.

The girls put their trees up.

This picture to any one else is just Courtney and her tree. However, I notice that she's "hugging" it because she is so caring. She's one of the most caring kids I know. She LOVES what she loves with all of her heart. If someone is crying, she's concerned. So when I saw what she did. I wasn't surprised. I know God will use this tenderheart for His glory!

Then another moment that made my heart melt...the girls just started reading books by the newly lighted Christmas tree! So sweet! Of course, hearing what Courtney was "reading."

So today we decorated the tree today. It was too late last night, so since the girls and I were going to be home today, Daddy said it was ok to do it without him. I don't think he minded at all!

You can see where most of our ornaments ended up. I love it!

Then we moved on to Thanksgiving. (Is something wrong with this picture?!) I hadn't been able to fully embrace Thanksgiving and getting ready for it after a busy weekend and busy beginning of the week. However, today I made up for it. I made a pecan pie and 2 casseroles. Then decided to let the girls make a super cute cookie craft a friend had yesterday at Lindsey's school!

Look how adorable! Pilgrim hats! You may have known about these for years, but I haven't ever seen them. It was so easy and look so cute! We delivered them to our neighborhood kids and will be taking some tomorrow to share with our families at our Thanksgiving dinners!

Hopefully my girls didn't get too confused today. Moving from Christmas tree to pilgrim cookies!

Dinner anyone?

Some girls from my MOPS group and I decided to do some frozen meals and do a swap. So we got it all planned out. Set a date to swap. Now our freezers are full! It was quite overwhelming at first to think about all the food I had to cook, but I'm sure in the end it is going to be totally worth it! It was so funny to see so much food piled on my counter! (this was even minus one that was still in the bag) I can't wait to have some suppers with hardly any effort!

Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast

On Tuesday, I helped Lindsey's teacher with her classroom Thanksgiving Feast. It was so much fun. I love doing things for her class! Here is my little Indian girl!

Ms. Morgan had a cute little story that involved everyone in the class, so they were dressed as Pilgrim girls and boys and Indian girls and boys! They looked so cute!

Honey and Grangrad made the trip down to Greenwood! Honey loves to dress up, so I invited her to be a pilgrim. Grangrad...he's not so into dressing up. But, we were still glad he came!

I'm like my mom in a lot of ways...but loving to dress in costume is not one of them! ha! She is so good and loves doing this type of thing! She was a big hit!

Honey had a chance to read a Thanksgiving book

And sing a Thanksgiving song (with motions). Who is that Indian girl not doing the motions? Oh, that would be Lindsey! Of course...

Then it was Grangrad's turn.

Then it was time to eat! We had a true Thanksgiving meal. Turkey and ALL the extras! I'm so thankful to have many moms that are willing to help out!

It was a lot of fun! I thought it went well and I think Ms. Morgan was pleased as well.

Sisters....

Whitney (believe it or not) was climbing in the window seal the other day. Then I looked in and she and Courtney were sitting together. These 2 have a special bond. I don't know what it is, maybe the curls, but Whitney has always been excited to see her. She gets excited to see Lindsey too, but she has ALWAYS loved Courtney! I had to snap a quick picture....

Look at how sweet Courtney is smiling and how Whitney's little hand is on her leg. Priceless!

One day after school this past week, Lindsey asked me for the rake. So I got it for her. She was raking some piles and Courtney was jumping in. It was cute. They are playing so well together lately and I can really see them being best friends. I'm so thankful! I hope it is that way for the rest of their lives.

Last Saturday we went to Miah's baby shower for our nephew! (I love saying that!) and it was so fun! I'm a little bit excited to be an Aunt! Miah looked so cute! The girls love her! She will be a great Mommy to this baby boy! (we don't know his name--who does that?! ha!) I tried to get Courtney to get in this picture, but she was having no part of it. But, it is cute of these girls!

Sort of a weird picture from the angle where I was, but I LOVED this hat! Kyle is very much into sports like Ryan, so this little boy will be decked out in his sports stuff! This hat will be a perfect accessory for this sports boy! I love it!

Whitney was in her own little heaven...stairs to climb!

THIS is the face we get all.the.time right now! Her little grin, no teeth and looking out of the top of her eyes! So cute! Very "Whitney" to me in her own little way!

Then I had to get a picture of this gift! I wish I would have thought of it...but oh.my.word, I know Kyle was excited! He and Ryan have always been big Michael Jordan fans! This little boy is going to be stylin' in this get up! All he needs is a jersey and some wind pants, right?!

I'm so thankful for such a sweet, precious sister in law! I wish so badly we lived even closer than we do, but no worries...I will make some special trips to see this little guy when he's born!

Sweet Aunt Miah! She's so loved. So is her baby. The girls hug her tummy all the time!

We can't wait to meet you Baby Boy! We love you so much!

As I'm trying to catch up on some blogging, I'm realizing that I've gotten some pictures of Whitney that I haven't ever put on here. She's such a sweet girl and at the same time has really developed a personality all her own. So, here's to our Whitney June:

Beau Turns ONE!

We got to go to Beau's first birthday party! We were on our way out of town to the Razorback game so we didn't get to stay for long. I'm so glad we got to go and celebrate Whitney's BFF!

I can't decide if Whitney looks cute or scared to death, but I like this picture! She had to wear her birthday shirt to the party, even if she wasn't the birthday girl!

Let's Go Upward!

Yes, it is that time for us again! We are starting Upward! As bad as Ryan wanted and as much as he tried, he was unable to convince Lindsey to play basketball. He knows she may not love it, but we both want her to try it at some point. However, we want her to do whatever it is that makes her happy!

Lindsey is so excited to cheer! None of her best friends are doing it and she has been fine with that. I'm so proud of her confidence. We got on a team with a friend that is a little older so I'm glad that she has a friend to cheer with. I hope it will be another great year!

Ryan is coaching 2 teams! Yes, 2 teams! That means on Saturdays we will have a game for Lindsey to cheer and 2 games for Ryan to coach. He's so good at it, it is hard for me to be upset about the time commitment it takes. He also told them that he would referee if they needed him. WOW! Are we committed to Upward or what?! (or maybe he's just crazy!) Whatever the story....I may be crazy by the time the season is over! ha!
