Beau and Whitney

We went by yesterday for a little bit to hang out with Erin and her boys! So funny to think about her having 3 boys and me having 3 girls...but somehow our world's collided and we became good friends! When Whitney was little and at their house (she's sweet to babysit since we don't have grandparents close enough) Beau would always want her blanket (the pink one). My friend Tonya had made the blue one while I was pregnant and we didn't know what we were having. Once she was a girl, I asked her to make an all pink one. So the blue one went in her closet.

Until we figured out that Beau loved that blanket too and we passed it along to him!! They both LOVE their blankets and for some reason, it must taste good or feel good because they both do this....

It's so fun for us to have a baby friend to play with!
(PS-Whitney doesn't have a shirt on because she had a dress on and couldn't crawl. I promise I don't take my baby around town naked! ha!)

Happy Birthday Lindsey

Lindsey remembered last year that I made her pancakes and put a candle it them for her birthday breakfast. That is what she asked for again. So that is what I made....a stack of six pancakes because she is 6! I think she ate 1/2 of 1! Ha! At least it is a cute pic!

After lunch we started working on her birthday dinner!

She had to wait until Daddy got home from work because he had to be at work early, so we couldn't open presents until he got home. She was so good to wait, but she watched that clock all day. Ryan said he'd be home at 5:00 and bless his heart, he was! This was one happy little girl!

For THIS reason: earrings! She knows it hurts to get your ears pierced, so she doesn't ask for that, but she loves the idea of having ear rings!

Ryan had been threatening Lindsey with some birthday spankings, so she got some! Even one to grow on! I should have taken a picture, but Courtney wanted some as well! Ha! So she got some!

We had a fun birthday with Lindsey. She had a good day I think. I just can't believe she's 6! We will be celebrating all week and weekend. Her "friend" party is Friday night and her family party is on Sunday.

Lake with Friends

The Coston Family went to the lake with us on Sunday after church. It was a lot of fun. This is me and Camryn. Let me explain this relationship: she is my Cami and I'm her Sher Sher! She was the first baby a friend had after I was TOTALLY not having any more babies. She was the one that I got to love on and play with and then send home without any strings attached. So, she and I bonded a whole lot when she was little. It sort of stuck...and now she is that special one that will always hold that special place in my heart! She calls me Sher Sher, she gets excited to see me, she loves on me, BUT I don't have to put her to bed, potty train her, deal with her fits (that even though I know how sweet she is, she can throw a fit with the best of them!), teach her and be responsible for her manners, etc. I pretty much just get to be the "fun Aunt" which sits very well with me! I'm even thinking about telling Kyle and Miah that my name is going to be "Aunt Sher Sher" just because it's so stinkin' cute coming from a 2 year old's mouth! I love you, Cami!

Back to the lake....here is Lindsey with Ryan on the disc tube. She had been in the red boat tube and WHILE MOVING got on the disc! WOW! Has she gotten brave or what?!

Supper on the boat, nothing much better! Grilled hot dogs! So fun! Everyone was tired by this point, so there was NO getting a great group shot!

At the beginning of the summer we weren't sure if we were going to keep our boat this summer. We at one point even had it sold, but decided to keep it. I can't even say how thankful I am that we made that decision! This has been the best summer yet on the boat! The girls love it, they enjoy being out there, I enjoy watching them and have fun just being together as a family with or without friends! I'm so thankful that we are able to enjoy this luxury of life right now! We are truly blessed!

Let the celebrating begin

Sunday Ryan and I were asked to work in Lindsey's class at church. Since it happened to fall on her birthday weekend, we took cupcakes to celebrate with her friends there. She was so excited. She had decorated them with sprinkles.

Here they are eating their snack. The funny thing is that their story was on Daniel and how he chose to eat the healthy foods, not the unhealthy ones that the king wanted him to eat! So, we learned that story, then had cupcakes! Ha! Just ironic!

She has a wonderful class. The kids in her class are ones that are "older" and will go to kindergarten next year. They have started visiting children's church some and she loves it! She's so ready to go to kindergarten!

Birthday and Bridal Shower

Saturday we celebrated my dad's birthday with a lunch at Catfish Hole (best hushpuppies EVER). They brought him a plate of suckers and he got to blow out his candle! Mom had brought cupcakes, so we didn't have to eat a sucker for dessert! ha!

Then we got to go to a wedding shower for Amber and Taylor! It was her very first one! We were all so excited to go! It was a very simple, sweet shower!
(we are going to have to work on Courtney looking at the camera before the wedding in Sept!--drives me CRAZY!)

We gave them their pots and pans, but I didn't get a pic of those when she opened them. It made me even more excited for them to be married! Fun times! She has another shower in a few weeks that will be lots of fun for me because it is at FBC Bentonville, where I grew up!

We went to Texas to see my cousins and it was a fun, but crazy times!

We had fun. Uncle Bill grilled for us, we got lots of time to talk and catch up, watch our kiddos play, and do fun things. However, we shared a stomach bug for a day and a half while we were there! Seriously?! How did that work its way into our trip? Oh well....it was fun to see our cousins. I'm so thankful for my family and how close we are! Can't wait till next year!
