Ressurection Rolls

We made these last year and I love how hands on and visual this is for our girls to learn something from the Bible! They are Resurrection Rolls! They are super duper easy too!

Ryan read (and paraphrased for the preschool version) about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. He read/talked about them nailing him to the cross and that He really died for us!

Then we talked about how Jesus was buried in the tomb. But before He was buried, they had to get his body ready. So here they are, hands on, learning about Jesus!

Marshmellow: Jesus body, white as snow, just like He makes us after we ask Jesus in our hearts

Dip it in melted butter: the oils that they washed Jesus body with

Roll in cinnamon and sugar: the spices that they rubbed on his body

Crescent roll: the cloth they used to wrap Jesus body in

The oven door: the stone that was put in front of the tomb

The next morning, Ryan read the rest of the story. The best part of the story. The reason we are able to go to heaven and be with Jesus...HE's ALIVE!

When you break open the rolls, the marshmallow (Jesus) is gone! What a great example and visual for our girls to see. They both know it is just melted, but it is a great way to help them understand that he really wasn't there...He didn't stay in the grave, He is RISEN!
